Tales of Ijapa the Tortoise is available as a Talking Book and in Braille!

Braille is so much more than reading or writing. It facilitates social inclusion and gives millions of people, young and old, independence, dignity, access to information and education.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People ‘RNIB,’ celebrated Braille’s two hundredth anniversary from September 2024 to August 2025.

I was delighted to have had the opportunity to join in #Braille 200. In March 2025, I narrated and recorded Tales of Ijapa as a Talking Book at RNIB’s Grimaldi Building in London. All the staff were helpful and supportive especially the Audio producer who was remotely assigned to me.

It was slightly nerve racking initially but overall, a beautiful experience and a memory which I shall always cherish. Having ‘Tales of Ijapa the Tortoise,’ converted to Braille is a major milestone for Ijapa Books.

A free audio and braille version of Tales of Ijapa are available to access, borrow and enjoy via the Royal National Institute of Blind People ‘RNIB’ Library.
